What does the night bring out in you?
My song might spark something in you. Perhaps a word, a sentence or a memory comes to mind, or you have a night story of your own. Write it down in the notebook and share it with me. That way, the song becomes a little bit yours too, and can slowly grow into something bigger.
I always write back — even in the middle of the night.
MY ‘HOWL’
What the song is about to me
A connection with something ancient. Something that cannot be put into words. That is what this song is about for me. A small ode to the mystery in nature and in ourselves.
It is also a song about loving without wanting to understand everything. Like a wildflower that decides to grow even on inhospitable ground.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
I’m Hanneke — theatre maker, singer-songwriter, night owl.
Together with a team of 13 musicians, I made the album I Will Howl For You, about what the night brings to light.
Through the dwaalschrift (wandering notebook), listeners share a night story, dream or thought of their own, which I let resonate in new songs.
I invite you to listen along. Maybe we’ll meet at one of the concerts. I share the dates on Facebook and Instagram.
