Night Stories & Daydreams
From December 21 to June 21, I share my night stories and daydreams with you each month — in the form of a song. Here you can listen, write along, and follow how the story unfolds.
Maybe you received a notebook in your mailbox or arrived here through the Night Post. Maybe you were lying awake, feeling curious, or something else brought you here.

ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Dear unknown,
On the darkest night of the year – December 21, 2025 – this journey begins.
Or perhaps it has already begun.
I’m Hanneke – theatre maker, singer-songwriter, night thinker.
For six months, I will share my night stories and daydreams with you, in the form of a song.
I’ve created a notebook through which I send out a new single each month, sharing a piece of myself in the hope that it touches something in you.
It’s meant as an invitation for you to add something of yourself. That way, the songs also become a part of you.
For those without a notebook in hand, there’s also a digital version here.
I’m curious to see what the songs awaken in you.
Just like you, I don’t know how this project will unfold.
If all goes as I hope, on June 21 – Midsummer Night – I will gather everything that has been collected along the way.
Through the Night Post, I’ll gladly keep you updated.

LISTEN – Landscape –
Each month, a new single will appear here, even before its official release.
The first song, Landscape, I wrote while daydreaming, without exactly knowing where it would go. For me, that’s what the song is about too: going with the flow and surrendering to it — not always easy for overthinkers : )
Thanks to someone I’ll introduce to you properly soon, it now sounds as it was meant to. A pair of headphones brings it even closer. Because this project is about the little details.
I hope it carries you away.

Don’t have a physical notebook?
With the digital notebook, you can also leave a piece of yourself.
A word, a sentence, a scribble, a thought, or a memory.
A daydream or your own night story — anything the song inspires in you is welcome!
That way, the song becomes a little bit yours too, and can slowly grow into something bigger.

Today, I dropped the first notebook in someone’s mailbox! I’ll tell you who that is later. The project also appeared in the Arnhemse Koerier. It’s wonderful if many people can join in!
VEELGESTELDE VRAGEN
- Wat moet ik schrijven?
Alles wat het lied bij jou oproept is welkom. Groot of klein, perfect of rommelig – denk er vooral niet te lang over na. Laat je inspireren door de verhalen van anderen, zie het als een dagboek, vertel over een droom die je je herinnert, iets dat je gisteren meemaakte, stel een vraag aan jezelf of een ander, omschrijf een gevoel dat het lied bij je losmaakt, of schrijf gewoon een paar woorden op die in je opkomen.
- Wordt mijn bijdrage ergens opgeslagen of openbaar gemaakt?
Digitale bijdragen verschijnen in het digitale schrift op de website. Je kunt ervoor kiezen je naam wel of niet te vermelden, en als je je bericht alleen persoonlijk wilt delen, laat het me gerust weten. Misschien hoor je een stukje van jouw verhaal terug in een lied, tijdens het eindconcert, in verhalen of updates. Natuurlijk doe ik dit anoniem en met zorg.
- Wat kan ik nog meer verwachten?
Ik vind het ontzettend leuk dat ik zelf ook nog ga ontdekken hoe dit project werkt! Het is mijn ambitie om het schrift langs mensen te laten reizen met een bijzondere relatie tot de nacht, zodat er nieuwe verhalen en verbindingen ontstaan – daarover vertel ik tijdens het project meer.
- Het schrift is vol! Wat nu?
Achterin het schrift vind je een envelop met een antwoordnummer erop. Hiermee kun je schrift het vanuit Nederland zonder postzegel terugsturen. Is de envelop kwijt, of verstuur je het vanuit het buitenland? Stuur me dan een Tikkie of je bankgegevens, dan betaal ik de postzegel terug. Wil je een nieuw schrift ontvangen? Laat het me weten!
- Ik wil me aanmelden voor het eindconcert, kan dat?
Wat leuk dat je erbij wilt zijn! Ik weet nog niet precies hoe ik dit ga aanpakken of hoe groot het gaat worden – het project is een experiment! Volg me via de Nachtpost, dan houd ik je graag op de hoogte. Ook op Facebook en Instagram zal ik af en toe updates delen.
- Kan ik het album ook kopen?
Jazeker! Maar nog niet helemaal. Via het schrift en de Nachtpost kun je de singles al horen voordat ze officieel worden uitgebracht. Het eindconcert op 21 juni, tijdens Midzomernacht, is de officiële releasedatum van I Will Howl For You. Er staan zes nummers op; officieel heet het dan een mini-album, maar ik vind het groots.
- Ik wil je graag boeken voor een huiskamerconcert of podium. Kan dat?
Jazeker! Mijn favoriete speelplekken zijn de intiemere podia. Tegelijkertijd werk ik in 2026 aan een muziektheaterproject met mijn theatergroep DeJong&DeWitte, waarin we de verhalen van thuis- en daklozen met muziek een stem geven. Hiermee ben ik deze zomer ook op enkele festivals te zien. Wil je weten waar en wanneer? Volg het project ‘Stadskameleons’ via www.dejongdewitte.nl.
- Staat je vraag er niet tussen of loopt iets niet helemaal zoals je hoop?
Dit project is een pilot en ik heb vast nog niet alle hoekjes uitgedacht! (Het is een hele puzzel, maar ik word er heel blij van!) Stuur me gerust een bericht met je vraag of feedback – graag zelfs!
